Description:

The Bartender is responsible for skillfully creating delicious drinks with engaging service to achieve delighted experiences for every guest in support of our company-wide mission of offering deliciousness served with graciousness in all that we do. The position is also responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for restaurant service, demonstrating excellent guest service, maintaining the organization and smooth operation of the bar, and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or assigned management of which the employee is capable of performing. This is a non-exempt position and typically reports to the General Manager. Essential Functions • Warmly greets guests and guides guests through food and beverage menus in a friendly and engaging manner. • Prepares and serves all drink items for guests seated in the bar, as well as for servers as drinks are ordered in the restaurant, by adhering to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Bar Manager. • Takes orders and serves food and drink orders to guests seated at the bar. • Demonstrates excellent food safety, sanitation, and organizational skills, while completing duties in a timely manner. • Operates Point of Sale system correctly (including correct tip entries) so that orders are communicated correctly and guest checks are processed correctly. • Restocks and replenishes all items as needed throughout the shift. • Maintains a clean and organized bar; assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of bar and other areas as needed. • Performs assigned sidework and attends mandatory trainings/meetings as scheduled. • Assists and supports in other tasks within the scope of the team, as needed. • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a manager that the employee is capable of performing.

Exigences:

Knowledge • Requires a minimum 3 years of closely-related bartending experience or education, with work experience in a high-volume, fine-dining restaurant environment preferred. • Requires advanced knowledge of standard drink recipes, as well as advanced knowledge of food, beer, wine, and spirits, with a strong desire to continue learning. • Ability to obtain appropriate licenses as required directed by local, State, and/or Federal law. • Working knowledge of applicable safety and sanitation procedures. Skills and Aptitudes • Must commit to providing gracious service with exceptional food and drink knowledge. • Requires advanced drink preparation skills, including ability to follow recipes and prepare drink items to order (including demonstrating basic math skills). • Ability to interact with others in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner in a team environment. • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving, self-motivation, and organization skills. • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. • Ability to take direction and multitask. • Requires the ability to learn and maintain related culinary knowledge. • Requires the ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably and professionally with guests, co-workers, and managers. Working Conditions • Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods of time to perform normal job functions. • Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions. • Frequently works with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates. • Requires the ability to lift and transport up to 35 pounds on occasion and up to 15 pounds regularly. • Must meet State minimum age for using required equipment. • Flexibility and/or reliability in work schedule are required to provide support when it is needed.
