Description:

Job Identification: • Immediate Supervisor: Logistics Manager. • EEOC Class: Operatives. • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. Wage: $19.25 Per hour Job Summary: The Driver Class C I is responsible for safely and efficiently receiving and delivering donations and goods. Safely drive a rigid body truck within the area served by Goodwill Industries of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Duties/Responsibilities: • Operates a truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws. • Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations. • Inspects vehicle prior to leaving facility. Reports all defects to supervisor or manager. • Properly follows OSHA specifications regarding lockout/tagout procedures. • Reports any defects on Driver’s Daily Report Sheet. • Loads and unloads goods and materials properly and securely, using specialized equipment when warranted. Returns all equipment to designated area. • Follow proper company procedures and guidelines when operating the lift-gate. • Conducts self in a safe manner; works cooperatively as a team with logistics helper to prevent bodily injuries and property damages. • Completes daily driver reports (i.e. Driver Report, Trip-Sheet, update vehicle board.) • Reports any traffic violations / accidents to supervisor immediately. Completes written incident report. • Always use the assistance of the logistics helper when backing up or driving through difficult entrances. • Responsible for safe return of vehicle, equipment and all donated goods to Goodwill facility at end of daily route. Responsible for security of donations and goods. • Performs other related duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team and/or mission.

Exigences:

Required Skills/Abilities: • Able to communicate effectively and courteously with the public and coworkers. • Wear appropriate protective footwear. • Able to read map and use GPS. • Visual acuity. • Demonstrates reliable attendance. • Able to work Monday through Sunday, any hours specified by management. • Knowledgeable about company’s mission and services, and customer-related policies. Physical Requirements: • Must work in all weather conditions. • Must be able to lift/pull/push 50-75 pounds at times. • Ability to bend/squat/stoop. • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time. • Free from drug and alcohol abuse. Required Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or abilities required for the position. Individuals must have a valid driver’s license, liability insurance, insurability under the agency insurance carrier, and a clean driving record. • Minimum of (1) year of applicable driving experience. • Current Driver’s Medical Certificate. • Current Department of Motor Vehicle Print-Out. • Good driving record. Equipment, machines and tools used: • Hand truck. • Gaylords. • Pallet Jack. Personal Protective Equipment Used – Assigned at orientation/as needed: • Safety belt • Face mask • Hand sanitizer (available at worksite) • Disinfectant wipes (available at worksite) • Safety vest • Gloves
