Junior Systems Administrator Classification: Exempt JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary: The ideal candidate will apply strong server administration skills to do analysis, installation, implementation, and support windows server environment both physical and virtual environments. Candidate will resolve implementation challenges which require an intimate knowledge of server’s and virtual environment and the ability to work independently and in conjunction with System Administrator. The Junior System Administrator will closely work with Systems Administrator to ensure the Server infrastructure to ensure high availability of a 24x7 production environment. General Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist with the development and implement plans for deploying new virtual server for stores and corporate office. • Provide operational support for all of the company’s systems, such as Sage HRMS, ACS, Aloha, Kronos and other systems. • Maintain the integrity and compliance status of non-production systems to ensure a stable environment. • Work with the team to investigate and improve security as it relates to applications and processes; participate in the process of keeping all systems and applications patched and up to date. • Participate in 24x7 on-call support for the company's production systems. • Actively participate in the development and improvement of a monitoring system(s). • Support operations at our data centers • Maintain effective working relationships with other IT Staff members, internal customers and technical staff at collocation providers. Maintain professional relationships with all vendors. • Ensure all backups are properly maintained per compliance. • Ensure recoveries of backup are validated. • Ensure proper tracking of offsite storage is maintained. • Responsible for user access quarterly reporting • Ensure users are properly added and removed from the systems on hire and termination. • And any other compliance duties assigned. • Monitoring Corporate and Stores Virtual environment systems thru VCenter • Monitoring DR replications and backup • Manage and support database environment with backups, monitoring, health check and setup best practice and controls Knowledge and Skills • 2 years server systems and LAN network administration experience. • In-depth technical knowledge of and experience installing and administering Windows • VMware experience • SQL experience (not DBA) • Microsoft Cluster experience • Windows Scripting at plus • SharePoint at plus • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce usable and maintainable documentation. • Demonstrates problem solving abilities and initiative • Ability to deliver projects on schedule and identify resources required to do so. • Strong knowledge of networking as it relates to systems and security • Must be available to be on-call and be prepared to work outside of normal business hours under certain circumstances. • Office 365 and Azure knowledge • Excellent problem-solving skills • Professional Personality • A "Can-Do" attitude • Able to travel locally and remotely approximately 10-15% • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license Required Education and Experience • 2+ years in Windows administration role • VMWare experience Supervisory Responsibility NA Physical Demands • Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. • Travel 15% - 25% • May also have to do some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. • Manage several requests and situations at one time or simultaneously (multitask) Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is an exempt level position; schedule would be based on business necessity and coordinated through the reporting supervisor.
