Title: Business Analyst (Entry Level) Classification: Non-exempt Reports To: Manager, Data Analytics Job Description Position Summary The Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and delivering all current reports, as well as creating new reports as required. The role will support consolidated management and performance reporting across the Continuous Improvement Department. Assist Lead with analysis and reporting from an operational perspective to support business needs and goals on a periodic and ad hoc basis. Assist Lead with validation of metrics and tracking of performance to goals. Assist with simplifying report format & deliveries to ensure needs of Continuous Improvement are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reports • Create, maintain, and distribute reports that allow Lead to make enhanced decisions • Create and distribute recurring reports to support operational initiatives and tracking of performance client. key operational metrics • Pull information to support one-time reporting and specific requests on an as-needed basis Recommendations and planning • Provide assistance through recommendations and planning for reports • Assist with the compilation and review of metric reports for data measurements of performance against annual operating plan • Recommend solutions to challenges based on the analysis of reports and knowledge of the business • Assist the Department Lead in the preparation of annual budget, incorporating sales forecasts, staffing, and expenses Analyses • Assist Lead with analyses, research, and statistical validation of operational processes • Assist Lead with the documentation of project background, timelines, recommendations, presentation decks, and analytic outcomes for assigned analyses • Assist Lead with the gathering, processing, and formatting statistical metrics for assigned analyses Collaboration • Work with appropriate areas to determine best measurements and information are being considered • Work with other support areas to determine sources of information, accuracy, and delivery of metrics to support operational action and decision making General Duties and Responsibilities • Organizational context: This position assists the Lead in tracking and analyzing the progress of operational goals. The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert and must maintain, create, and distribute reports to the appropriate areas • Framework & guidelines: This position will be coached on analysis methods by the Lead an in extracting key points to support decision making in addition to primary reporting duties • Financial dimension: No direct responsibility • Degree of latitude: new reporting and analysis will be presented to the Lead, who will be responsible for the distribution or movement to regular reporting. New Additions to distribution for reports containing sensitive financial or other information outside of agreed upon standards. Analyst will provide recommendations on opportunities to simplify reporting and eliminate/reduce excess information overload to the stores & operations leadership • Interactions and relationships: This position interacts with other support areas to determine appropriate metrics to consider in analyses as well as takes direction from the Lead in conducting analyses Knowledge and Skills • Experience in Business Analysis as it relates to Continuous Improvement preferred • Experience in a retail store business preferred • Experience with Microsoft Suite of Applications, including Excel and SQL preferred Required Education and Experience: • Education: Bachelor’s Degree • Experience: 1-3 years Physical Demands Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to team members and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other team members accurately, clearly, or quickly. Manage several requests and situations at one time or simultaneously (multitask). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a non-exempt Level Position; Monday – Friday, schedule would be based on business necessity and coordinated through the reporting supervisor; Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
