Description:

Title: Asset Protection Data Analyst Classification: Non-exempt Reports To: Director, Asset Protection & Security Job Description Responsibility for the prevention of losses to Vallarta Supermarkets through the evaluation and analysis of data in alignment with standards established within the department. Effectively protects the assets of Vallarta Supermarkets from internal and external criminal activity by using capabilities and associated technology to detect possible cash and product losses at all locations and to help support in the completion of investigations. Responsibilities and Duties: • Designs and develops ad hoc reports and new reporting techniques using multiple reporting systems to generate potential case leads and identify new types of dishonest activity • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for growth and implementing this growth in the department. • Manage projects to establish exception management structures and principles geared towards various exception-based reporting applications. • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with other departments. • Recommends exception-based reporting strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements. • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. • Performs analysis; identifying dishonest employee and theft activity through the use of exception-based reporting • Works closely with Investigators, Auditors and APDM’s to facilitate investigations of theft, policy violations and/or criminal activity. • Initiates case leads and provides actionable data and offer investigative support to drive successful case closures by using investigative resources and related technologies as directed. • Performs other responsibilities, functions and/or projects as requested • Ability to prepare and conduct power point presentations to executives and all levels relating to data analytics • Provides statistical reporting Knowledge and Skills: • The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust quickly to urgent matters • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information • Self-motivated to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Some travel required. Required Education and Experience: • Four-year degree preferred • Prior exception-based reporting experience • 3 to 5 years of related experience Physical Demands Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a non-exempt level position, Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employees may perform other duties as directed. We gather information about your employment history with Vallarta, such as the company location/facility to which you are assigned, position and description of duties, fulltime and part-time status, pay rate, as well as descriptions about your job performance and skills.
