Title: Marketing Director Classification: Full Time Exempt Reports To: VP of Marketing Job Description Position Summary: The Marketing Director will be responsible the development, sell-in (internally and with vendor partners) and execution of Vallarta’s marketing/advertising programs. Additional responsibilities include managing the company’s Public Relations initiatives as well as our charity fundraising and giving (Gonzalez Family Foundation). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and execute compelling, sales driving marketing/advertising initiatives. These programs will be both vendor and self-funded initiatives. • Manage team members (one initially and more as the department grows) to achieve set objectives in Vallarta’s marketing programs. • Lead the development of the company’s Public Relations strategy. Oversee the implementation of the strategy to achieve set objectives. • Oversee all facets of the organizations charitable giving programs. This includes the execution of fundraising events (golf tournaments and in-store programs) as well as our giving programs. • Manage third party vendor in the execution of our in-store sampling and demonstration events. • Adhere to deadlines and produces projects/assignments in a timely fashion. • Work collaboratively with marketing team members and other departments to insure flawless execution of programs. • Perform other duties and special projects required by the organization. • Responsible for supervision of the Graphic Designer, ensuring they are successful in their role, meeting department goals and objectives, and positively represents the marketing department by demonstrating Vallarta’s Core Values; Customer Service, Commitment, Integrity, Respect, Humility and Teamwork with everyone they come in contact with. Knowledge and Skills: • Promotes an environment that supports and encourages the adoption of Vallarta Supermarkets Core Values • Strong customer service skills, with a commitment to delivering extraordinary customer service • Strong project management skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Bi-lingual English & Spanish required • Ability to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion • Solid understanding of consumer communications principles and practice • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight timelines but remain detail oriented • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual English & Spanish) • Demonstrates curiosity; keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies and resources • Is motivated and driven, and collaborates well with Creatives, Project Managers, Business Owners and Executives to solve complex problems with simple solutions This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employees may perform other duties as directed. Requirements:

Required Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or Retail • Demonstrated track record of managing consumer communications projects in either an agency or retail environment • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Business to Consumer Marketing and/or Public Relations (retail preferred) • Financial Scope- Working knowledge of the budget and tracking to ensure efficiency • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently

Physical Demands: • May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time • Requires prolonged sitting or standing • This position requires up to 20% travel and overnight stays from time to time • Typical physical demands or activities include climbing, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching and walking • Must report to work location (office or store) daily to meet requirements of the essential job functions. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is an exempt level position; schedule would be based on business necessity and coordinated through the reporting supervisor. If you apply in-person or come to our store(s) as part of the application process, we may need to take your temperature or other similar information as part of our health protection policies. However, this information is not retained. • Inferences. We gather information about your employment history with Vallarta, such as the company location/facility to which you are assigned, position and description of duties, fulltime and part-time status, pay rate, as well as descriptions about your job performance and skills.
