ELECTRITIAN TECHNICIAN Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Refrigeration Supervisor JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary: Specializes in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on food processing equipment, ovens, proofers and lighting. Also performs new equipment installs to new locations when they open and replaces existing units as needed. Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records to develop proactive inspection, testing and preventive maintenance schedule. Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and follows prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned General Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain a safe work environment; work in a safe manner following all safety Policies and war Personal Protective Equipment as required • Electrician, Industrial – The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years prior experience in a fast paced food processing environment • Performs semiannual preventative maintenance of all ovens, proofers and food processing equipment, when required. Lubricates fans, motors bearings and other equipment • Perform preventive maintenances and maintain critical spare parts inventory for the food processing equipment and lighting • Work independently and make sound judgments regarding work methods and tools. Proactively support the Corporation, Stores, Departments and Personal goals and objectives • Coordinates assigned activities with his coworkers and the store directors, as needed. Assist in the selection and monitor the performance of outside contractors and vendors • Ensure all stores are supported to meet business needs with working equipment, including: meat saws, mixers, slicers, ovens, proofers, etc. preventive maintenance, equipment service and safety equipment • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including FDA, CA FDB, OSHA, DOH, EPA, Fire Department, City Audits, Health Department, etc. • Ability to work safely in an environment containing hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gasses, steam and moving machinery • Able to work after hours and on calls as needed; weekend shift support and shutdowns • Receive and deliver vendor delivered supplies to appropriate store for installation • Ability to monitor and respond to emails and telephone calls that are sent and made to office staff • Able to keep records of his/her Gas card and company credit card and is able to turn in all paperwork into the Office manager in a timely manner and complete as required by ownership • Maintain a good driving record and a current driver’s license at all times • Operates the company vehicle safely and keeps up with the routine maintenance of the vehicle • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed Provides excellent customer service to the Vallarta teams Knowledge and Skills: • Install, repair, calibrate and trouble shoot a variety of PLC controlled electrical and pneumatic devices including: VFDs, RTDs, proximity devices, valves and positions, pressure and flow transmitters and other electric or pneumatically operated control devices using various test and calibration tools • Basic safety Documentation Skills • Conceptual Skills • Usage of power tools • Attention to detail • Lifting, Job Knowledge and Productivity Physical Demands: • Lifting of weights up to 60lbs or more • Usage of power tools • Working under extreme temperature conditions may be required Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: • 6 Days a week open as needed Required Education and Experience: • Must exhibit a responsible, professional, and positive attitude towards the job • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays • Must have at least 2 years of Electrical repairs experience • Must be able to work at all Vallarta locations within a reasonable commute to home • Must be able to use electronic communication effectively to answer calls and emails • Must be able to document ability to legally work in the US • Have successfully completed a course of study in electronics or electrical theory from an accredited technical trade school or college
