The Glass Knife is an exciting, new dining concept opening in fall 2017. As a blend of both quick and full-service, it is our vision to bring a truly unique experience to Winter Park with a standout offering that features the perfect combination of sweet treats and savory fare. Our sophisticated yet approachable destination will re-define the level of artistry, precision and service in our community. Whether it’s where a Guest chooses to start their morning, close out their evening or celebrate a special moment with family and friends, our ultimate mission is for The Glass Knife to be as familiar and welcoming as mom’s own kitchen table. You are expected to report to work on time at the scheduled start of your work shift. Reporting to work on time means that you are ready to start work, not just arriving at your scheduled start time. You are responsible for consistent, dependable transportation to and from work.

Requirements:

Duties & Responsibilities: • Coordinate daily front-of house restaurant management operations, reporting to the General Manager • Achieve restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews • Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards • Complete audits; identify trends; determine system improvements; implement change • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues, food & labor expenses and overall performance; document events in Manager’s Log • Control all ordering, vendor invoicing, operational costs and identify measures to cut waste • Ensure compliance with all with sanitation and safety regulations • Accomplish restaurant human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining non-management team members • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions; enforce policies and procedures • Respond efficiently and accurately to restaurant customer complaints • Operate a computer and associated software (MS Office, internet) and computerized point-of-sale equipment • Foster meaningful relationships with all team members, Guests and vendors; remain highly visible in all aspects of daily operation • Be willing and able to perform the roles of server, expediter, line cook, busser, cashier, food runner or all other position, when necessary. Qualifications & Required Experience • Minimum 3 years experience in a high volume, full-service restaurant; Proven track record of success • Ability to read menu offerings, product labels, register screen, pricing, receipts, safety procedures, and operating guidelines & instructions in English • Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds • Ability to work scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
