Description:

Job Description: Design and build software applications, integrations and custom software that enable and support SONIC IT Service Management business objectives within the ServiceNow technology platform. Essential Functions: • Develop scripts, applications, and conduct system admin work in accordance with the ITIL industry best practices and Sonic processes • Develop ServiceNow software solutions using Sonic’s scripting language(s) of choice, Web Services, SQL, XML, HTML, Java Script and CSS • Identify solutions and provide requested enhancements to existing ServiceNow applications • Develop and deliver customized portal web pages in ServiceNow • Maintain and support workflows, scripts, service maps, integrations, alerts, and notifications, etc. • Work with functional business units and admin teams to deliver automated workflow solutions in ServiceNow • Integrate 3rd- party software with ServiceNow • Facilitate and support the rollout of new applications and enhancements in ServiceNow • Configure ServiceNow Discovery and Orchestration • Create Service Maps for all Business Services • Configure and/or develop notifications and alerts • Advise functional and admin teams on design, development and overall ServiceNow best practices • Actively participate in the ServiceNow community portals • Understand business requirements and how they translate in application features • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications • Design creative prototypes according to specifications • Write high quality, unit-tested source code within deadlines • Conduct functional and non-functional testing • Troubleshoot and debug applications • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features • Develop technical documentation to accurately represent application design and code • Other duties as assigned Education and Work Experience: • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar technical discipline • 3 – 5 years’ experience developing on the SNOW technology platform • ServiceNow Application Developer or Administration Certification preferred • ITIL V3 Foundation Certification preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Script writing utilizing JavaScript and PowerShell • Able to develop, configure and admin in an enterprise environment • Analyze business situations and work within a group environment to provide efficient and effective software solutions • Participate in the full software development life cycle: Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing and promotion into Production. • Provide technical support during all phases of project delivery. This includes, but is not limited to: development of project estimates, solution design review, documentation creation and review, and peer code reviews • Implement and customize a web architected n-tiered enterprise application • Experience with SaaS applications • Experience with relational databases in relation to an enterprise software system (Oracle, MS SQL, Spring Framework and/or Grails, Groovy, Hibernate, etc.) • Knowledge of system design and development used within Service Oriented architecture and web services integration • Strong knowledge of Web 2.0 Technologies (Java Scripting, XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, PERL scripting, etc.) and PowerShell • Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow integration using LDAP, MS Active Directory, ADFS, Single Sign-on and web services integrations. • Integration (interfacing) of enterprise software systems with ServiceNow • Strong knowledge of ITIL v3 methodologies, ITSM concepts, enterprise IT architecture, and relational databases • Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow components such as Service Catalog, Change/Incident/Problem Management, Asset Management, CMDB, Knowledge, Release Management, etc. • Experience working in and managing multiple update sets and coordinating their promotion throughout multiple instances. • Ability to learn ServiceNow Best Practices and maintain ongoing knowledge of latest ServiceNow features. • Must be adaptable to work in a varied, fast paced exciting, ever changing environment • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with business partners • Good analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues • Excellent organization and communication skills • Ability to work with multiple business teams Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
