Description:

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for cost accounting, inventory accounting, and related variance analysis at our Fort Worth Production Kitchen. Major responsibilities include analyzing, reconciling, and controlling inventory, cost of goods sold, labor, and productivity. This role will work closely with the Operations Team as well as Finance to establish standard costs for manufactured products, identify variances to standards, and partner with Operations to maximize efficiency and minimize waste based on actual results vs. standards. What you will do… • Perform cost accounting activities including standard cost development, average pricing analysis, margin and cost ratio analysis, inventory control, variance analysis, etc… • Provide accurate and timely product cost accounting information including food and labor cost analysis for management. • Define standard product costs for existing and new potential menu items including raw material, work-in- progress, labor and overhead. • Establish formalized methods of calculating labor and overhead (variable and fixed) rates. • Conduct monthly analysis of gross margin, sales, scrap, substitute material, inventory, variances, standard costs, finished goods and overall budget performance. • Analyze variance of food and labor cost projections to actual costs. • Analyze product contribution margins and recommend strategies for improving margin. • Work closely with Purchasing to optimize food cost and identify and resolve purchase price variances. • Coordinate with Corporate Controller and Director of Operations on actual results vs. budget and help drive improvement to achieve targets. • Work closely with the kitchen team to perform and reconcile monthly physical inventory. • Assist in the annual budget process and fiscal year-end audit. • Special projects as assigned. Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year university. • 5+ years of relevant supply chain and cost accounting experience. • Experience with a multi-unit, multi-state wholesale food or restaurant chain preferred. • Lean Six-Sigma Certification preferred. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong MS Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, sumifs). • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Etc.) • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn quickly and meet deadlines • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
