Description:

Position Summary We are looking for a dynamite and experienced Nutrition & Labeling Compliance Manager to join the Food Innovation & Nutrition team at our Austin, Texas headquarters location. This person will work cross-functionally with our Culinary, Food Safety and Quality, Marketing and Digital teams to ensure Snap Kitchen’s compliance with the latest regulatory standards related to nutrition labeling and compliance. The successful candidate will execute on nutritional label generation and manage related supporting processes. In addition, he/she will execute on targeted projects to identify labeling requirements, propose solutions and build and manage systems/processes to support the nutritional labeling program and related initiatives across the company. The ideal candidate has a thorough knowledge of FDA and USDA labeling regulations and is comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced, rapidly growing team environment.

Requirements:

Key Accountabilities • Generate and deliver digital and print nutritional labels for Snap Kitchen’s meals that are compliant with regulatory agency requirements • Working closely with R&D Executive Chefs, the nutrition and labeling compliance manager will bring nutritional expertise to help develop new nutrition claims and to write the substantiation for the respective claim including writing protocols and conducting additional studies to substantiate the nutrition claim. • Ensures that products are aligned with Snap Kitchen’s nutrition philosophy and meet and/or exceed Snap Kitchen’s nutrient standards. • Manage all new nutrition findings (internal and published nutrition research) and to have the nutrition competency to be able to apply these findings to our products including new nutrition claims where required. • Participate and contribute as a member of a cross-functional project team providing nutrition expertise and guidance. Actively drive product and process conceptualization, development and scale-up. Interface on a project implementation team by assisting with a transition from concept to development to start-up and providing nutritional guidance and training as required. • Conduct all activity in compliance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and all required Company policies and procedures. • Manage & maintain the digital nutrition database and other label-related data for both Snap Kitchen prepared meals & third-party items. • Create written nutrition content for various brand communications including in-store collateral, email, and digital marketing.

Additional Info:

Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Nutrition and Dietetics or a 3-year Science Degree followed by a Master Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. • Minimum 3-5 years of technical food labeling and regulatory experience, ideally at a large Consumer Packaged Goods company, restaurant and/or food service industry • Demonstrated experience with interpretation of FDA/USDA rules, regulations and guidance as it relates to nutritional labeling • Extensive knowledge of recommended serving sizes and RACCs for common foods, dual column labeling, labeling of meals and prepared foods and familiarity with new FDA Nutrition Facts labeling guidelines. • Demonstrate the ability to create original, differentiating nutrition technology and/or claims and apply nutrition knowledge to meet business needs. • Ability to translate nutrition research to nutrition claims.
