The Staff Accountant will be joining Snap Kitchen’s rapidly growing Finance & Accounting team. This position reports to the Senior Corporate Controller and is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis to support financial statement preparation for key stakeholders. The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to improve and develop processes as the Company grows. The F&A team supports each other in all our shared responsibilities and goals and is looking to add another team player with a positive attitude! Reports to: Senior Corporate Controller Key Responsibilities: • Help complete the period-end close process thoroughly, accurately, and on-time. • Own accounting processes, journal entries and account reconciliations. • Help prepare period-end financial statements and explain variances to budget and trend. • Work with accounting team to implement on going improvements to the business through automation and streamlining of procedures. • Work with the accounting team, IT, and outside resources to implement system enhancements. • Develop and implement best-practice accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes. • Assist in the completion of the fiscal year-end external audit as well as state and local audits. • Conduct research on complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to finance leadership and the business. • Complete 1099, property tax, sales and use tax, and other compliance reporting and filings. • Establish merchant accounts (Visa/MasterCard/Amex) for new retail locations. • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance. • 1 - 3 years financial accounting experience. • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or similar general ledger system. • Rock star self-starter who is hungry to dig in, learn and achieve goals. • Must have excellent attention to detail. • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn quickly and meet deadlines. • Strong MS Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, sumifs). • Must be comfortable working in an open environment and collaborating across departments. • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed. • Maintain high standards of ethics, integrity and honesty.

Additional Info:

Nice to Have: • Experience with a multi-unit, multi-state wholesale food, restaurant, or retail company. • Big 4 public accounting or other audit experience. • Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
