We are currently seeking an experienced software engineer to develop and maintain the backend applications that drive the consumer facing products (iOS app, snapkitchen.com) that our customers love using week to week. Our consumer facing digital products generate a significant portion of the revenue for the business and continues to drive the company’s growth. To succeed in this role, you must be self-motivated and enthusiastic about solving complex problems in an iterative approach and strive for engineering excellence. What you will do… • Work with a cross -functional team of engineers (backend, web, app, devops, and data), a product manager, and a designer. • Contribute to our software stack – Python, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Flask, Django, CircleCI, Docker/AWS. • Deploy high quality code to production up to several times a week • Impart your wisdom when reviewing code written by fellow engineers • Come up with useful Slack integrations to provide transparency of data and customer interactions across the organization. • Write unit tests to maintain quality of key components Who we are… • A small high impact team reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer, providing us full transparency on the state of the business and direct line of communication to the leadership team. • Open minded to new ideas and ways to improve any part of the business with a software solution • Encourage everyone to voice their perspective on architecture and stack decisions, and will not hesitate to change our approach if we hear a better idea • Loved by our customers, and we work hard to keep it that way • Value honesty, transparency and respect

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience with Python, Java, or C# • Have a strong passion for writing high quality software and love creative problem-solving (We have hackathon days dedicated to generating ideas, choosing ones we like best, and prototyping a solution. Previous projects have given us Slack bots, Alexa skills, and an Apple TV app.) • Able to manage a healthy work/life balance. All work and no play makes Homer something something…
