We also have a for-hire hauling company, Root Network, that does dedicated routes outside of LFFC, along with supplementing stops on LFFC routes. Job Summary Dispatchers coordinate pick-ups, deliveries, and handle drivers' issues. The assistant dispatcher is a flex position providing support to dispatch in planning and executing, help with early morning loading, and driving on routes as needed. This position requires strong communication abilities along with solid logistical and organizational skills. Dispatchers need to be on call outside of work on a rotating schedule to deal with any issues that may arise. This position will have early start times, varying from 2am to 9am on a regular schedule. Essential functions • Support and implement efficient and timely delivery routes and/or backhaul opportunities to and from the customer base. • Monitor transportation operations to effectively react and communicate necessary adjustments to the daily operating plan. • Maximize driver and equipment utilization. • Assist with gathering and analyzing information and in developing reports to measure the performance of transportation operations. • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations. • Collaborate with other dispatchers, the transportation management team and other departments to achieve operating results. • Commercial driving experience in 26’ box trucks or larger is a requirement. • Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations related to transportation. • Significant knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic area (PA, NY, NJ, DE, MD, DC, and Northern VA) • Must be customer service oriented in person and over the phone. • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase customer service. • Ability to deal with a lot of information effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. • Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Drivers pick up and deliver produce, supplies and other food products to our farmers and to our customers. Most of our product is palletized, refrigerated and temperature sensitive. We seek to find individuals who are safety oriented, flexible and good communicators. Routes start and end every day at our home location. Only on rare occasion there is an overnight route. Essential functions: • Load and unload vans using pallet jacks and hand carts. • Ensure necessary paperwork is completed for each delivery. • Communicate appropriately with necessary parties regarding delivery status. • Maintain simple records of deliveries, pick-ups and vehicle mileage. • Inspect vehicle for safety defects and for full vehicle functionality. • Safeguards secure loading of truck to prevent shifting and product damage. • Safely operate the assigned vehicle – cargo vans (less than 10,000 lbs.), non-CDL straight trucks (up to 26,000 lbs.) • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day. Job Summary A mechanically inclined position that is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the transportation fleet keeping safety of vehicles as a priority. This position also requires the individual to drive a 26-foot box truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver produce, supplies and other food products to our farmers and to our customers should circumstances require a driver. Essential functions: • Provide timely and effective movement of equipment and vehicles throughout the truck yard based on communications with the warehouse. • Help load and unload trucks as necessary ensuring truck has a minimum of 4 load straps attached to rails every night and 2 load bars. • Fuel up the trucks as necessary, also making sure each truck has DEF tank filled. • Pick up produce from local farms when necessary. • Clean the back of the trucks, clean up parking area after truck is power washed. • Wash outside of trucks as necessary cleaning cab if necessary. • Inspect and file Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports • Inspect trucks for any damage, record damage on damage report log, video truck daily. • Make Farm calls for next day pick-up times. • Night time deliveries are possible. • Minor repairs to vehicles and company equipment when necessary. • Customer service oriented.
