Summary: The Director of Design is responsible for assisting the Sr. Director Bus Dev Design in establishing and maintaining policy and procedure relating to facility planning and design; developing internal design standards; providing for internal interdepartmental and external brand interface; assisting with contracting and qualifying of consultants; provide project management on internal and external brands to take projects from schematic design and 30% design development to working drawings. Essential Functions:  Provides a full range of professional management services required to support a multi-million dollar design/build department  Oversees design consultants developing 30% design documents and final construction drawings  Assist in establisheing department standards for professional design/engineering services  Provides information to estimating department to establish budget parameters for projects  Maintains continuous interface with vendor community for merchandising materials  Provides design support to standardize basic merchandising materials and finishes  Provides project management support of internal concept finishes, equipment, and operating requirements  Provides support in the development and maintenance of new and existing concepts


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:  Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of architecture.  Requires 5 years varied experience in the hospitality, food service or design field with an emphasis on interior architecture and design build projects  Requires proven ability to successfully work on and manage multiple projects at varying stages of development  Requires knowledge of CAD, estimating and graphic software  Requires advanced project management skills to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively and strong analytical skills and excellent business judgment with the ability to communicate persuasively at all levels of management  Requires strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
