Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant – General Ledger is responsible for the management of the period close process, preparation of internal management reports, participation in special projects related to the enhancement of the financial systems, and maintaining and administering the integrity of the Corporate General Ledger system in PeopleSoft Financials. This position requires interaction on a regular basis with Corporate Accounting and Systems personnel as well as Business Controllers, Field Controllers and Branch General Managers. This is an exempt position and reports to the Sr. Manager of Financial Reporting. Essential Functions: •Assist with the management of the company’s Period Close process. •Assist with the management of the company’s internal reporting functions including preparation of internal management reports summarizing period financial results, identification of key issues and trends impacting operating performance, and the maintenance of key measurements and operational statistics. •Assist in maintenance of the journal entry approval process. •Participate in special projects related to the enhancement of the general ledger system, other related systems and reporting mechanisms. Assist with the testing of new systems and upgrades. •Perform multi-currency set-up in the general ledger and ensure that the multi-currency process functions properly. •Troubleshoot issues arising from system interfaces to the General Ledger and provide ongoing recommendations for continued system process improvements and reporting enhancements. Work with Corporate and Field systems personnel to resolve PeopleSoft General Ledger issues. •Work with various groups to maintain active chartfields and help with the clean-up and coordination process to inactivate chartfields. •Assist with the setup of current and new stores, contracts and special projects in the General Ledger. •Maintain PeopleSoft trees for financial reporting. •Create and maintain General Ledger Business Units (legal entities) and functional business units in all submodules. •Maintain translation and cross-reference tables used to load data into the General Ledger.


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field •Strong computer skills including PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office applications; 2 plus years of PeopleSoft Financials and General Ledger experience a plus. •Strong financial analysis skills. •Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. •Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills including outstanding customer relationship skills •Strong analytical and problem solving skills. •Detail oriented, organized and efficient.
