About KCRG: KCRG-TV9 is the ABC affiliate based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with bureaus in Dubuque and Iowa City covering all of Eastern Iowa. We produce 5 hours of news everyday, as well as support a robust website and the largest social media audience in the market. Job Summary: KCRG-TV9 is looking for a meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather team covering Eastern Iowa. Weather is a vital part of life in Eastern Iowa - from tornadoes and floods to blizzards and wind chills, this is an opportunity to forecast and present a wide variety of events. As such, weather is a vital part of KCRG-TV9 newscasts. Each meteorologist is expected to present a forward focused weather-cast on TV, as well as pushing focused segments and updates for digital platforms. This position requires strong forecasting skills, ability to create easy-to-understand graphics, and strong presentation skills, as well as strong teamwork skills both with your meteorologists and with the entire newsroom. Responsibilities include, but are not limited : -Analyze and interpret meteorological data and models to produce an accurate forecast -Present a clear forecast using visual elements for newscasts -Write and edit stories, graphics and video for digital platforms -Create engaging social media content around weather -Report live during severe weather events -Alert and consult newsroom staff on severe weather threats

Requirements:

-2 years previous experience as a TV meteorologist -Degree in meteorology or equivalent experience -Strong presentation skills -Strong graphical skills -Strong writing skills ◘ Interested applicants can apply online at https://gray.tv/careers#currentopenings and attach resume
