Job Summary: WCAX-TV has an immediate opening for a news producer responsible for daily live newscasts. We are looking for a newsroom leader who can multi-task and make split second decisions. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, with strong organizational skills and excellent writing ability. This position provides a great opportunity for those seeking a career in newsroom management OR an eventual transition into on-camera roles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Demonstrating creativity and strong editorial judgment • Developing and organizing newscasts • Writing and editing news scripts for TV & digital platforms • Editing video for TV & digital platforms • Giving direction to reporters and photographers on deadline • Creating graphics for new stories • Coordinating live shots • Communicating with anchors and production staff during live broadcasts • Using social media outlets to engage viewers

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in journalism or related field • Excellent news judgment • Strong broadcast writing and visual storytelling skills • Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Previous newsroom experience preferred • Familiarity with ENPS, Edius, and web posting preferred ► Please apply online at https://gray.tv/careers#currentopenings by searching the station call letters (WCAX-TV) and attach your resume
