Job Summary/Description: CBS7 - the top rated, long-time news leader in Odessa-Midland, TX – is looking for a REPORTER / MMJ to join our news team. You'll be responsible for pitching story ideas - plus shooting, writing and editing them for on-air and online. You'll also be live on a regular basis. You should be able to write conversationally and quickly. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door of a television newsroom. We’re looking for someone with a great attitude who’s willing to learn, someone who can write conversationally and quickly, who knows how to enterprise story ideas and is fun to be around. If you’re a creative story teller and a team player with a good work ethic, we should talk. CBS7 is a cool place to work too. We’re the only station in the country that has the entire operation inside a shopping mall. We do 5 ½ hours of news a day and have plenty of tools and toys – four TVU’s, a brand-new satellite/production truck and a staff of nearly 30 people. And those people are hard-working folks with positive can-do attitudes. We don’t allow poison in our newsroom. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Bachelors Degree in journalism • An internship at a commercial TV newsroom • A resume reel (this is a requirement to be considered) • ENPS and Clickability Experience are a plus
