Job Summary: KBTX is looking for an experienced meteorologist to join our award-winning team. KBTX’s meteorologists produce and deliver dynamic, compelling and understandable forecasts for our newscasts and digital platforms, and accuracy is a must. The ideal candidate must work well in a multi-platform environment and contribute daily to our digital platforms, including social media and KBTX.com. Responsibilities aren’t just limited to forecasting, however. Meteorologists work directly with the news team to build daily coverage plans. Our meteorologists also report in the field, making weather, both common and catastrophic, relatable to our viewers. Strong teamwork skills and creativity are essential. KBTX prides itself on having a newsroom staff who are interested and excited to be involved in our community. The right candidate will be an ambassador for the station, teaching young students about meteorology during campus visits and making personal appearances at community events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Weather analysis and forecasting • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills • Enjoy public appearances, including presentations to students in a classroom setting • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Ideal candidates must have extensive knowledge of atmospheric science • A B.S. in Meteorology or a related field is preferred • Experience in a newsroom environment is necessary • 1-2 years of experience in weather broadcasting is preferred • Must have working knowledge of computer graphics, including production of graphic elements for television weather-cast ◘ If interested you can apply online at https://gray.tv/careers#currentopenings
