Visit wbtv.com to learn more Job Summary: WBTV is looking for a managing editor to sit at the helm of day-to-day content gathering operations for the newsroom, managing information flow, leading the editorial process and ensuring the plan is executed on all platforms. The managing editor makes sure nothing falls through the cracks by focusing on content-generation, development, and distribution. The managing editor supervises assignment editors and MMJs and works closely with the executive producers, supervising producers and the digital content manager. This role is ideal for an experienced journalist who is passionate about delivering content on all platforms with the viewer/ user at the center of content decisions. General Responsibilities: • Drives the coverage plan for the day on all platforms from creation to execution • Expedites the flow of information and content coming into the newsroom; works closely with digital and broadcast executive producers to ensure content is distributed quickly and appropriately on all platforms • Initiates feedback regularly for content-generators about creative storytelling and innovation • Works closely with Assistant News Director on coverage planning for significant events (ex. Major trial, elections) • Oversees assignment desk operations/ scheduling/ training • Supervises reporting staff

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in journalism • Assignment desk, field reporting and/or digital experience preferred • Some supervisory experience preferred • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred • Excellent time management and ability to multitask ◘ Interested applicants can apply online at https://gray.tv/careers#currentopenings by searching the station call letters (WBTV-TV) and attach your resume
