Job Summary: Gray Television owned KMVT-TV (CBS) in Twin Falls, ID is seeking a dynamic News Director to oversee content and day to day operations of its news department. The ideal candidate will possess newsroom leadership experience, a proven track record of success, meter market experience, and a vision for taking an award winning news product to an exceptional level. The candidate must also demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for evolving digital, social and mobile media. If you have the experience, talent and skills necessary to effectively lead, mentor, and motivate an outstanding group of journalists and news professionals please apply. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • The News Director must have a strong working knowledge of community issues and needs, understand sound journalistic principles, oversee all content gathering and presentation in a visual and viewer oriented storytelling style • The news Director is responsible for planning big event coverage such as elections, parades, and rodeos • Supervise and schedule personnel • Review content on all platforms for journalistic balance • Participate with station staff in the development of local issue and event coverage plans • Work closely with the staff to distribute content on all platforms • Knowledge and proficiency in posting content to websites and social media • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of social media to enhance news-gathering and customer engagement

Requirements:
