Job Summary/Description: The weather leader for Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia and the Florida Panhandle has an immediate opening for a dynamic meteorologist to join our team! We may be a smaller market, but we operate like a big one. We have all the tools you need to tackle our challenging weather patterns, from severe weather outbreaks, to tropical storms and hurricanes, to the rare high-impact winter events. Our four-person team works with the latest WSI MAX system, paired with storm tracking capabilities with our Baron system and a network of HD cameras. This position will report three days a wek and anchor weather on the weekends. In addition, the position will also have a role helping with our station's web and social media platforms. You will also serve as a fill-in meteorologist for the full gamut of newscasts on News4 including mornings and evenings during the week. Talking with schools and organizations in our community is also very important and expected of the candidate at times. A Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology is required. You'll gain valuable experience covering a variety of weather and learn from our top team of meteorologists. Weather is of the utmost importance to our station and the community. We need a dedicated professional excited to cover the biggest weather stories before, during and after they happen. Dothan is a growing city with lots of dining, shopping, entertainment and outdoor options and we're only a short hour-and-a-half drive the the beautiful white beaches in the Florida Panhandle. The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ◽ Putting together clear and accurate forecasts for newscasts and web ◽ Updating station's social media accounts and website ◽ Assisting weekday weather staff as needed in times of severe and non-severe weather ◽ Filling in as necessary ◽ Ability to put together news stories including shooting your own video ◽ Ability to write news stories for the web

Requirements:
