Job Summary/Description: Develops weather forecast for a half hour weather show as well as forecasts for the morning newscast, posts timely digital information and presents news during newscasts and weather cut-ins. May include occasional reporting on weather topics/ or general topics. Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following: • Analyze weather data and prepare detailed forecasts • Prepare graphics to support weather presentation • Conversational On-air presentation • Flexible schedule for severe weather scenarios • Work closely with news management in designing presentation style and editorial content for weather presentations • Post content to website and station social media platforms • Visit area schools and organizations to talk about the importance of knowing the weather • Give station tours while highlighting the importance of the local television station and what services it provides to the community and the importance of local weather casts • All other duties assigned by management

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in meteorology • Prior experience as a broadcast meteorologist (amount will vary depending on specific position) • Strong on-air communication skills • Ability to work as part of an on-air team and part of a weather team • Knowledge with WSI Max and their various platforms a plus • Ability to be creative with graphic design and presentation • Demonstrated ability to accurately forecast weather • Proficient in social media platforms ◘ Come join our dynamic team, apply online at https://gray.tv/careers#currentopenings by searching the station call letters (WAGM-TV) and attach your resume
