Our focus on digital allows us to reach far beyond our broadcast signal, to communities in southern Colorado and eastern Utah. Job Summary: Do you have a passion for weather and news reporting? KKCO/KJCT in Grand Junction, CO has an exciting opportunity for a Weekend Weather Anchor / Reporter. Weather duties include working Saturday & Sunday evening newscasts, with the opportunity to improve your live on air skills delivering forecasts for two networks. You’ll also be responsible for updating station social media accounts, assisting other weather team members staff as directed in times of severe and non-severe weather, working holidays, and filling in as necessary during scheduled and on-call situations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Reporting duties will consist of weather and non-weather related stories • Produce daily content on a variety of platforms including internet and social networking • Produce and present accurate and reliable forecasts on the weekend • Work as a one man band reporter three days a week. • Other duties assigned

Requirements:

• Degree in meteorology is preferred • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply • Passion to be a part of a major weather event, no matter when it happens • Compelling on-air presence - crisp, clear, and confident • Should thrive working under the intense deadline pressure of television weather • Technologically savvy with strong computer skills • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills • Strong leadership qualities and self-motivation • Experience with Weather Central 3D:Live and ESP, as well as social media platforms is a plus • Must have an excellent driving record • Ability to work under deadline and on a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends and/or holidays **This position requires a link to your video reel** Mailed DVDs are also accepted.
