JOB SUMMARY: This is a dream job for someone who truly wants to make a difference every single day. As the investigative producer and chief photographer, you are cultivating and researching stories for our investigative team. You'll work alongside a talented and award-winning group of journalists to produce daily "problem-solver" type stories as well as the long-form investigations. You must be able to multi-task and simultaneously work on short and long term projects. Excellent photography and editing skills are a must. In addition, you will lead our team of general assignment photographers and multimedia journalists - teaching by example, mentoring and providing constructive feedback. Must have strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment .A love of stories and the craft of storytelling. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Cultivate and research stories for the investigative team Vet tips for credibility and newsworthiness Ability to use creative production techniques to enhance storytelling Interview news subjects and research for facts and credibility Ability to work multiple stories at once Shoot, edit and assist in writing investigative stories Coach team of general assignment photojournalists and multimedia journalists Manage and help assign photographer gear and vehicle assignments Promote and ensure safe news gathering practices in the field Ability to troubleshoot technical equipment issues Assist with maintenance/inventory of field equipment and vehicles

Requirements:

Minimum 4 years experience in a television newsroom. Ability to cultivate daily stories as well as work long-form projects. Strong research skills, ability to analyze data and computer-assisted reporting skills a plus. Excellent photography skills and creative editing is a must. Ability to creatively tell complicated stories using video, graphics and non-traditional media. Leadership skills to coach and manage people to do their best work. Ability to write, edit and produce under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility. Basic understanding and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.
