Visit www.wbtv.com to learn more. Job Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for the right person who wants to join Charlotte’s most accurate weather team, certified by WeatheRate. The ideal candidate is a flexible, team player with an engaging personality who can confidently lead or assist with every aspect of broadcast meteorology. This includes forecasting and preparing graphics, reporting in the field, being an integral part of severe weather coverage, and providing compelling content on TV, online, and on social media. Candidates must submit a link to samples of on-air work with resume. If available, please include samples of digital work as well. General Responsibilities: Live morning traffic reporting in-studio using The Weather Company (formerly WSI) system Noon weather daily Back up for main morning meteorologist Fill-in as needed on other shifts Daily digital and social media responsibilities Public appearances Weather reporting in the field and in WBTV’s Storm 3 weather vehicle

Requirements:

4-year degree in meteorology with additional AMS certifications preferred Significant traffic/ weather broadcast experience will be considered Minimum of 2 years on-air traffic/ weather experience required Experience with The Weather Company (formerly WSI) system preferred Additional reporting experience preferred Social media proficiency required
