Rockford – Small Town Charm with Big City Convenience! Job Summary: WIFR needs a self-starter who tells a great story, finds unique ways to present information to viewers and can shoot good video. You must have a strong on-air delivery, sharp social media skills and excellent people skills. Must also have the ability to not only handle but expect curve balls in story assignments and know how to adapt in each situation. The perfect individual will be able to write, edit and shoot engaging, informative and compelling news and sports content; develop and execute enterprise stories on a regular basis; consistently contribute to news and sports content on the stations social media and digital platforms; maintain an unequivocal commitment to accuracy, fairness and ethics; meet daily production deadlines; and other duties as assigned. You will be trained to operate the live mobile backpacks. QUALITIES: This person should be a dynamic storyteller and interviewer, a person who works well with a team, outstanding and energetic communicator on air and online, have a knowledge of various sports, and have experience with non-linear shooting and editing. Knowledge of the use of social media is a must. The individual must work well under deadline pressure and have the ability to work flexible schedules as needed. HOURS: To be determined. (INCLUDES HOLIDAYS AND POSSIBLE WEEKENDS.) EXPERIENCE: College degree and previous TV news experience preferred. Must exhibit good news judgment, have the ability to make quick and accurate decisions, have good communication skills, be able to work under deadline pressure.
