About KWCH: KWCH-TV, KSCW-TV, and satellite stations KBSD-TV, KBSH-TV, KBSL-TV, is currently accepting applications for a part-time News Producer to join the #1-rated news team in Kansas. Job Summary: We’re looking for a part-time morning associate producer to edit and write stories for our KWCH and KSCW morning newscasts. This is an excellent entry level position for anyone interested in video editing and writing. Must be able to learn quickly Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: • Accurately edit video with an eye for visual elements that make stories understandable to the viewer • Write news stories • Maintain working knowledge of current events, community issues, and local contacts • Search wire services, network feeds, websites and others sources to find relevant material for newscasts • Write creative headlines and teases • Assist producers in formatting newscasts • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Knowledge of non-linear editing software • Clear, concise, conversational writing skills • Excellent communication skills • Demonstrate solid news judgment • Strong initiative and attention to detail • Ability to stay current with national and local news/weather • Intermediate-level knowledge of social media • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
