Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced communications professional with strong writing and editing skills, and the capability to manage multiple projects. This team member will be responsible for creating engaging internal communications content to support various business needs, as well as content for our internal communication platforms. Along with their leader, the successful candidate will lead efforts to ensure that team members are well-informed, inspired, and connected, while actively promoting and enhancing the EG America brand internally.

 

Responsibilities:

1.       Write, edit, review, and oversee content for the company intranet and our communications platform by partnering with other departments, to ensure content is accurate, appropriate and timely.

2.       Analyze performance metrics and oversee the publication of news stories, while leading the Internal Communications (IC) team in the creation of engaging content.

3.       Manage, oversee, and provide development opportunities for Internal Communications Specialist.

4.       Partner with other members of the Communications team to move projects forward.

5.       Work on creative content projects, from concept through completion, as outlined by the Director of Communications and key internal stakeholders.

6.       Write, edit, and review content for internal leadership announcements, emails, newsletters, presentations, talking points, and video scripts, as needed.

7.       Provide support for the day-to-day communication needs of various departments, including Retail Operations, HR, IT, Marketing, Facilities, etc.

8.       Creates video concepts and scripts for leadership support team.

9.       Serve as a brand ambassador and change leader by developing strategic communication plans that effectively engage stakeholders and drive organizational transformation.

10.   Ensure brand and messaging quality and consistency through established guidelines.

11.   Work to maintain growth and increase traffic to our internal communication platforms.

12.   Assist in maintaining an internal editorial calendar, based on priority and timeliness.

13.   Assist the Communications Director and all business partners in staying on top of communication best practices and continuously look for ways to improve the flow of communications across the company.

14.   Manage alignment and operations of the company’s four employee resource groups.

15.   Assigns content creators and management content for Inclusion and Diversity holidays and ERGs.

16.   Manage and review communications for companywide events.

17.   Partner with community engagement coordinator to promote yearly fundraising efforts.

18.   Experience in crisis communication and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

 

Working Relationships:               

Store team members, Store Manager, District Manager, and various Corporate team members.

Requirements:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism or related field

Preferred Education: Masters degree

Minimum Experience: 3 year experience in Communications field

Preferred Experience: 5-8 years’ experience in Communications field

Travel: 10% within EG America brand footprint (Coast to Coast US)

Hours & Conditions: 40 regular hours/ 8 hour work day, Monday – Friday, however, may at times be required to work outside of normal business hours due to business needs.

Other: Should have a clean driving record – will need to be approved to drive Company vehicle for field work.

Physical Requirement: Ability to stand/walk/ sit as needed during work day; ability to lift 30 lbs. – as needed, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp and grip
