The Software Developer I is responsible for writing, modifying and debugging software for point of sale (POS) applications. Test and document software for server and client applications. Provide client support for DRB Systems’ products.
• Participates in design of new products and features. • Develops concise specifications and implement features for new products. • Conducts unit level test code for quality and functionality. • Submits code for and participate in regular reviews focusing on architecture, styles and standards, and functionality. • Participates in creating work estimates, project schedules, and assessing project risks. • Meets stated milestone dates and deadlines. • Reviews and approves QA test plans. • Reviews product documentation for technical accuracy. • Works with other departments such as QA and customer support on escalated technical issues. • Troubleshoots hardware and software problems. • Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.
• Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. • Experience: Degree or equivalent with a combination of education, training and experience. • Computer Skills: Proficient in C#. Proficient in SQL (Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc). Web development and embedded programming a plus. Knowledge of database design, functions and general networking. Hardware experience. User Interface capabilities. • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid United States Driver’s license. Must have own personal credit card to use for travel with a minimum of $2,000 credit. • Other Requirements: Ability to take direction and work within a team environment. Proven ability to work within established guidelines, policies and procedures. Self managing, organized and hard working. Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays required.
The Technical Support Representative assists customers over the phone. They provide troubleshooting assistance of hardware and software issues, assist with software configuration and provide help and, training and in DRB Systems products. TSRs will be evaluated on skillset and job category (Level 1-3) and may be assigned to handle specific customer accounts or products based on these evaluations. Essential Functions: Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following: • Analyzes customer problems and complete timely troubleshooting to solve issues over the telephone and e-mail. • Handles inbound and outbound calls with the goal of increasing quantity of calls taken, quality of issues resolved and overall customer satisfaction. • Assists and trains customers in using DRB Systems products • Researches and completes project assignments based on the needs of the customer. • Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.
• Education: Currently pursuing High School diploma, High School diploma or equivalence certificate. • Experience: Experience working with computer hardware and software. Customer service experience preferred. • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft operating systems. Advanced knowledge of computer hardware including network setups. • Other Requirements: Strong communication and customer service experience. Aptitude for learning new software programs. Skilled in troubleshooting using analytical thinking. Detailed oriented. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90 percent of the time. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the office. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers, employees while interacting. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 15 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The individual frequently works in a controlled climate.
