Description:

The Category Manager takes ownership and leads food and related categories to deliver full value to all Culver's restaurants. This person will grow and maintain trust with all suppliers, distributors, team members and franchisees. We will consider candidates who exceed qualifications for a Senior Manager role. Essential Functions: • Lead and manage supplier performance for multiple categories; communicate expectations to suppliers, collaborate and hold them accountable for results (service, value, reliability, risk management, and transparency) • Take ownership and initiative; is accountable for food or related categories vital to Culver’s success • Function as a liaison on specification, development, and delivery changes between suppliers and internal departments such as Quality, Design Services, Menu Development, Operations, and restaurants as applicable • Create and administer purchase agreements, contracts, RFQ’s or RFP’s • Ensure compliance and execution of supplier contracts, pricing agreements and all onboarding documents • Troubleshoot concerns from franchisees regarding products, services, and distribution issues • Problem-solve with suppliers of product defects or quality assurance concerns; implement and oversee corrective action plan as necessary • Communicate product and distribution matters to our franchisees and field personnel in a timely and appropriate manner • Complete supplier business reviews, anticipate future supply needs and coach suppliers to achieve long range planning and development goals • Develop and implement innovative process improvement and cost savings strategies across the total supply chain • Develop trust and solid two-way relationships with suppliers • Identify and assess risk-related issues, communicate with Senior Leadership and appropriate stakeholders as needed, implement action plan to mitigate • Coordinate testing and development of new products which includes negotiating test parameters • Monitor & forecast movement of products including strategy for minimizing excess or obsolete inventory positions • Research and analyze market reports and understand product and commodity trends as well as their impact on product costs and the system

Requirements:

• Four year degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business or related degree or equivalent relevant work experience • 6 years holistic Supply Chain Management experience including procurement ideally in restaurant, food manufacturing, manufacturing or logistics industry • ISM Certification (CPM/CPSM), ASCM or other supply chain certification preferred • Demonstrated experience with negotiation, relationship management, problem solving, logistics, and project management skills • Fluency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint
