The Receiver oversees inventory control for all departments in the backroom receiving area by inspecting, counting and recording all merchandise received by the store. Receivers must comply with procedures for receiving all products entering the store including verifying actual product against invoices, confirming product integrity and checking product temperatures as needed. If discrepancies in the receiving process arise (defective product, incorrect invoice, etc.), then the receiver must resolve those issues in accordance with company policies. They must initial and code invoices, log invoices and make sure received product is distributed to appropriate departments.
