Title: Assistant Fleet Mechanic Classification: Exempt Reports To: Fleet Operations Manager Job Description The Assistant Fleet Mechanic must be able to diagnoses repair company vehicles, such as trucks and car issues. Must be able to perform diagnostic of vehicles to pinpoint issues and develop a cost-effective solution. Perform routine maintenance and repairs tasks on all company vehicles. Responsibilities and Duties: • Capable of troubleshooting and diagnosing any company vehicle make and type. • Maintain and repair company vehicles. • Repair and replace brakes, cylinders, wheels, radiators, valves, etc. • Maintain inventory of parts and repair records for all company vehicles by completing work orders accurately. • Read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. • Maintain batteries. • Must be able to work safely, always utilizing proper protective equipment. • Must be able to think outside the box when completing any task. Can diligently and efficiently perform given duties. Qualifications and Skills: • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience of auto maintenance and repairs. • Effective time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. • Candidate must have valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance. Two or less DMV points on Motor Vehicle Report. Mileage reimbursement. • Honest, self-motivated, and works well with others. • Willing to work overtime. • Able to work in confined spaces. Physical Demands: • Typical physical demands or activities include climbing, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and walking. • May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time; Must lift up to 60lbs or utilize “buddy-system” or tools to lift and carry the load. • Working under extreme temperature conditions may be required. • Usage of power tools. • This position requires travel between locations in the district based on business needs, multi store location position must be open to travel. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is an exempt level position, must be able to work weekends and flexible schedule as operational needed.
