Manager, Marketing Communications & Design Classification: Exempt Reports To: Director of Marketing Communications JOB SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION The Manager, Marketing Communications & Design will be responsible for all in-store communications from concept to production and delivery. This manager will have one graphic designer as a direct report (and potentially others as the department grows) as well as outside agency and print production resources. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES • Create, in collaboration with internal and external resources, Vallarta’s brand standards and graphics guide • Develop departmental signage solutions for each of Vallarta’s merchandising categories (Meat, Seafood, Produce, Grocery, Floral, Front End, etc.) • Identify and establish relationships with the appropriate agency and vendor partners to help grow the business • Be a steward of the brand and consumer communications collaborator / thought leader for other departments within Vallarta, especially merchandising • Oversee and execute all internal and external communications including print advertisements, online advertisements, emails, member messages and communications, social media channels and more • Adhere to deadlines and produces projects/assignments in a timely fashion • Work collaboratively with marketing team members, designers, product teams, developers, and database admins • Perform other duties and special projects required by the organization KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: • Solid understanding of consumer communications principles and practice. • Project management skills. • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight timelines but remain detail oriented. • Ability to lead the organization on design but remain open to input and mandated changes • Solid written and verbal communications • Financial Scope- Working knowledge of the budget and tracking to ensure efficiency • Experienced in developing and executing a marketing design, and has an advanced understanding of what makes content engaging and successful across platforms and audiences • Demonstrates curiosity; keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies and resources • Is motivated and driven, and collaborates well with Creatives, Project Managers, Business Owners and Executives to solve complex problems with simple solutions • Has a passion for cultivating relationships, managing and mentoring creatives, and can use that rapport to align teams around a vision • Solid understanding of local market creative and cultures • Has experience managing and hiring a team of creatives and takes pride in mentoring design talent • Strong command of visual and communication design principles • Passionate about graphic design, typography, photography, motion and illustration • Proven history of developing and implementing strategic marketing/communications plans with clearly articulated goals and impact metrics • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently

Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE • Degree in Marketing, Business or Retail • Demonstrated track record of managing consumer communications projects in either an agency or retail environment • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Business to Consumer marketing (retail preferred) • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and projects at once • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We collect information regarding your professional and education history to the extent provided in your resume/application. • Thermal or other Health-Related Information. If you apply in-person or come to our store(s) as part of the application process, we may need to take your temperature or other similar information as part of our health protection policies. However, this information is not retained. • Inferences. We gather information about your employment history with Vallarta, such as the company location/facility to which you are assigned, position and description of duties, fulltime and part-time status, pay rate, as well as descriptions about your job performance and skills. We may also draw other inferences such as your characteristics, job preferences, personal hobbies, activities, foreign language capabilities, other abilities and the like. Third-Party Collection of Personal Information The Company may use third-party vendors, such as Snag-a-Job, to facilitate the application process for applicants.
