Description:

Summary: The Starbucks Brand Champion is responsible for driving operational excellence through managers and staff who report into the Director (Senior Director) of Operations at the branch, working closely with operations management to monitor the appearance, standards, training, and operations within Starbucks branded stores, and is the primary interface with the Starbucks’s District Managers and other regional Starbucks corporate representatives. This position is generally responsible for five stores. The Starbucks Brand Champion is responsible for monitoring staff performance against brand and HMSHost standards, providing feedback, coaching, and corrective action as necessary. This is an exempt position and typically reports to the Director of Operations, depending on local requirements. Essential Functions: •Communicates Starbucks standards clearly, concisely and accurately to ensure effective operations at the store and branch. •Drives the implementation of Starbucks programs by motivating and supporting the store leaders to develop and implement action plans that meet operational objectives. Follows up consistently to ensure compliance with plans. •Monitors and ensures compliance with company and franchise standards of operation procedures, as well as those of all applicable regulatory agencies, and ensures on a daily basis that all products are prepared and presented in accordance with brand or company standards •Monitors and supports store leaders in maintaining staffing levels to Kronos standards. Utilizes the staffing template and works with HR to determine gaps. •Develops and maintains positive relationships with all store associates in the branch by understanding and addressing needs and concerns. •Recognizes and reinforces store level accomplishments by using existing organizational tools/programs as well as finding new, creative and effective methods. Ex: Green Apron Cards and HMSHost Shout Out Program. •Provides store leaders and associates with coaching feedback to improve store performance. Maintains awareness of and recommends developmental opportunities/assignments for Starbucks associates. •Collaborates with internal resources to support branch wide operations including HR, Commissary Management, Marketing, Loss Prevention, Finance and Facilities. •Utilizes external resources to support branch wide operations •Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote Starbucks and HMSHost culture, values and mission. •Conducts strategic business reviews with the Starbucks District Manager and Branch Director of Operations.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: •Requires a High School diploma or general education development (GED) diploma; college degree in hospitality, restaurant management preferred; brand certification required •Requires 3 or more years of job-related experience in high volume, fast paced multi-unit Food and Beverage operator or other related management experience •Requires working knowledge of all Starbucks brand training available to HMSHost associates. •Requires knowledge in all aspects of Starbucks licensed store operations including Barista Basics, Barista Trainer and LS Leader Training. •Requires understanding of internal management and financial report. •Demonstrates team management, delegation, issue resolution, coaching skills and ability to inspire others and act as a change agent •Demonstrates superior time/issue management skills •Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with individuals
