Description:

Position Summary The counter server role is to ensure that each and every guest is served in a friendly, professional and timely manner. This includes greeting the guests as they enter the restaurant, processing guest orders through the POS system, and notifying the kitchen staff of any special requests. This role will also be responsible for resolving minor guest issues, and maintaining the dining area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Hold the guest as the most important priority at all times • Enthusiastically greet the guest making eye contact and smiling • Take the order listening closely to ensure every order is filled promptly and accurately • Check patron’s identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages • Ensure orders are entered in the POS system accurately for transmittal to kitchen staff • Collect payment from the guest • Assemble the order checking for accuracy • Deliver the order making eye contact and repeating the order number and prepared food items • Thank the guest and invite to return again • Communicate guest feedback to restaurant management • Educate guests on products offered and specials, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon request • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods • Resolve guest concerns with respect and a sense of urgency • Understand in-store marketing promotions • Execute new product rollouts including selling to guests and product execution • Utilize cash control procedures • Prepare the dining room, serving guests, and keep tables and dining area tidy • Roll silverware, set up food stations, or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift • Maintain stock levels and cleanliness throughout the shift • Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule. • Complete required training assigned through the company training portal. • Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the MHRG brand. • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications Experience/Knowledge: • Previous server or cashier experience preferred • Must be friendly and guest service oriented • Ability to communicate effectively • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a sense of urgency • Ability to work as a team-player • Able to understand English and to follow simple verbal direction Skills/Aptitudes: • Detail orientated, organized and efficient • Learns quickly and has ability to take direction • High quality standards for production and service • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge • Must possess neat and clean hygiene License/Qualifications: • Valid Food Handler Certificate required • Successful completion of the state’s alcohol server training program (MHRG will adhere to any state’s restrictions on the minimum age for on-premise servers) • Valid State Alcohol Server Certificate required (unless state minimum age restriction) • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays • Must comply with dress standards • Authorization to work in the USA
