Description:

The Roaster is responsible for roasting high quality coffee to meet the demand of Mayorga Coffee customers. This employee’s training through prolonged exposure to various coffee types from around the world, coffee blend ratios based on Mayorga’s offerings, and knowledge of sophisticated roasting techniques classify her or him as a Professional employee. Each individual must be committed to and follow Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) food safety standards.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS • Fundamental math and mechanical skills • Knowledge of inventory control system • Being a flexible, self motivated team player with the ability to follow direction and working independently when necessary • Ability to work overtime and flexible hours • Advanced to superior Spanish proficiency • Strong attention to details • Ability to get a long with others, be punctual, and follow instructions • Ability to follow Mayorga Coffee policies and procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Training to become a qualified Mayorga Coffee Roaster while working closing with additional Mayorga employees to produce the best quality product possible • Following instructions provided by Operations Manage or Shift Supervisor whether written or verbal, and working closely to ensure Mayorga Coffee standards are met • Roasts coffee according to specific learned standards. The roaster has a clear understanding of the origin of the coffee, blend ratio, and temperature control for each coffee to be roasted and every batched roasted and packaged is up to the Mayorga quality guidelines • Enter accurate raw materials information into the Roasting sheet • Understands how to run and maintain both the Diedrich CR-45 and CR-120 Roasters, and any other piece of equipment. Have basic training of mechanical troubleshooting if any issues arise during its shift. • In charge of overseeing the loading/unloading of ongoing product • Ensures the receiving product is up to Mayorga guidelines as well outgoing product and inspection of delivery trucks • Roasting green coffee beans based on set schedule, as well as desired specification and roasting time • Ensuring each roasting profile and/or equipment settings are producing according to specific product specifications • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment • Working closely with other associates to ensure all are performing tasks to their potential • Maintains a clean and organized warehouse during its shift • Responsible for the end-of-shift cleaning procedure as per policy • Performing other duties as required by Management
