Description:

Come be the Purchasing Manager for Jeni’s. You’ll be responsible for leading the team that procures ingredients for the best ice cream in the world, supplies for our scoop shops and packaging materials for our shipping team. You’ll identify and evaluate viable vendors in support of our new product development and other marketing initiatives. You’ll be involved with maintaining and evolving our co-manufacturing strategy to align with our product and sales strategies. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and developing co-manufacturing sources of supply that meet our co-manufacturing strategy. You’ll develop co-manufacturing policies and procedures that outline best practice guidelines and promote the highest professional and ethical standards. You’ll work with team members to manage vendor relationships including but not limited to: cost analysis, negotiation, contracts management and performance metrics. You’ll ensure that raw materials, supplies and packaging materials are replenished in a fashion that optimizes inventory investment and cost, but ensures that the inventory is available when needed. You’ll communicate both short term and long range plans to Jeni’s vendor base and ensure that the vendors are capable of supporting our growth or evolving strategy. You’ll ensure that the appropriate internal customers are apprised of relevant changes in vendor strategy and capabilities.

Requirements:

We’ve been looking for you. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are well organized, with an ability to juggle and appropriately prioritize multiple projects. You are resourceful and creative with a natural curiosity to stay abreast of developments and new technologies in our vendor base. You have an ability to identify potential new partners to add to our vendor base. You have 5+ years of experience in purchasing with 2+ years of supervisory experience. You have experience managing co-manufacturing relationships. You have an affinity for ping-pong, company happy hour and Sweet Cream ice cream in your morning coffee.
