Description:

Summary: The purpose of the Director, Labor Relations is to represent the organization in collective bargaining negotiations and provide labor relations support throughout the proposal, grievance resolution, and arbitration processes. In partnership with field management and Human Resources, this position ensures that collective bargaining agreements are consistently interpreted and administered. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Labor Relations. Essential Functions: • Executes the company’s defined Labor Relations strategy subject to senior guidance and approval • Serves as the lead negotiator in collective bargaining negotiations and maintains positive relationships with union groups • Partners with field management and Corporate to develop negotiations strategy and research and drafts proposals for assigned branches • Advises and coaches field management on the interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements and labor relations, including providing labor relations training as needed to ensure consistent execution of contract requirements • Supports grievance administration, arbitration, NLRA, and other administrative proceedings • Maintains an extensive knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining trends • Partners with other HR groups including Benefits, Compensation, Associate Relations and Payroll to ensure contract negotiations and collective bargaining agreements conform to company policies and practices • Consults with Human Resources and field management on all aspects of labor relations including policies, wages, benefits, pensions, and work rules and practices

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: • Requires a Bachelor’s degree • Requires 8 years of Labor Relations and Human Resources experience • Requires experience as a lead negotiator for collective bargaining agreements • Requires strong working knowledge of HR laws and regulations and expert in the NLRA and Labor Relations • Requires effective negotiation and influence skills • Requires knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook • Requires strong oral, written and interpersonal skills • Requires ability to travel 70% of the time
