This is an opportunity for a dynamic professional with initiative, drive and high expectations. Stories can cover any event, from hard news to features, on any given day. This is a multi-faceted position and individual will also be trained as a fill in anchor. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Write and package their own special reports • Read copy prepared by other team members • Collect and analyze information about newsworthy events • Receive assignment or evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story ideas • Gather and verify factual information regarding story through interview, observation and research • Monitor police and fire department radio communications • Appear on television program when conducting tape or filmed interviews or narration • Give live reports from site of event or mobile broadcast unit • Post stories and updates to social media • Take photographs or shoot video to illustrate stories • Edit videos for broadcast • Confidence and an outgoing personality • Excellent communication and presentation skills • The ability to improvise when necessary • Research and interviewing skills • Calmness under pressure • The ability to work to strict deadlines • A good memory, for recalling scripts and facts • The ability to work on more than one task at a time • Great team working skills

Requirements:

• Ability to shoot, write and edit your own stories as necessary • Experience with posting stories to social media • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems • Schedule flexibility • A valid driver`s license and a good driving record Please apply online at www.gray.tv/applynow
