Job Description Pay Range: $18.00/hr-$22.00/hr Position: ULP Uniform Loss Prevention Agent Department: Loss Prevention Supervisor: LP Field Supervisor Status: Hourly, Nonexempt The Uniform Loss Prevention Agent responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of our premises, assets, vendors, team members, and customers. Walking the premises, investigating suspicious behavior, and enforcing company policies. Job Duties: • Investigate suspected shrinkage by employees • Following and confronting suspected shoplifters • Documenting theft and other security violations • Work with law enforcement to arrest/prosecute suspected shoplifters & dishonest employees • Safely apprehend and detain potential shoplifters • Provide court testimony • ULP works closely with both store management and law enforcement. When a shoplifter or employee is caught stealing, the uniform loss prevention agent will write supplemental reports or a witness statement for law enforcement and legal counsel • Observe all shoppers, vendors and team members • Develop and maintain records of apprehensions, and evidence • Maintain public order at assigned stores and/or company events Requirements: • You must keep your supervisors and store managers informed of your activities, as well as interact with store management and store security to alert them to possible problems • Must be able to travel to different locations as assigned • Must be able to appear in all criminal court hearings and prosecutions • You must be able to deal with people who might become emotional or angry when confronted and do your best to diffuse such situations. Deescalate and maintain control of situations • A major component of the job involves watching shoppers, identifying suspicious behaviors, and taking appropriate actions • You will be called upon to defend yourself and others if a suspected shoplifter becomes violent or resistant upon apprehension • Able to work independently as well as on a team • Ability to quickly build rapport • High energy with a sense of urgency while remaining professional and collected • Fluent in English and Spanish a plus • Must have excellent report writing and documentation to identify: Who, what, where, when, why and how. • You may be assigned additional duties as directed. All employees are expected to perform any reasonable task or request that is consistent with fulfilling company goals and objectives Physical Requirements: • Must be able to approach and detain suspects. Including but not limited to: running, hands-on detaining suspects, physically blocking passage of suspects, etc. • Verbally control situations by issuing commands, body gestures, and direct passage as necessary • Bending, Squatting, Kneeling, Reaching above shoulder level and below, Crawling • Fine Hand grip and utilizing hand cuff restraints when necessary • Must have no Visual or Audio impairments in order to interact with suspects and management See attached NOTICE TO JOB APPLICANTS (1/1/2023)

If you apply in-person or come to our worksite(s) as part of the application process, we may need to take your temperature or other similar information as part of our health protection policies. We may gather information about your potential employment with the Company, such as the company location/facility to which you are assigned, position and description of duties, fulltime and part-time status, pay rate, as well as descriptions about your job performance and skills.
