Café team members will be responsible for providing industry leading hospitality and food service at the Community Café inside a large corporate office building located at 3500 Lacey Rd, Downers Grove IL. The Café will operate Monday-Friday and will be responsible for all food production and service during lunch hours. We offer exciting and rewarding opportunities for top performers who are committed operational excellence, innovation and building a team culture based on daily successes Community Café services include, but are not limited to; • Food and beverage throughout building • Food stations during lunch hours • A large variety of fresh grab-and-go items daily Responsibilities: • Provide efficient, industry best hospitality at Point of Sales (POS) stations throughout lunch rush by greeting guests with a smile, offering menu knowledge as needed and quickly move guests through the line • Quickly complete POS transactions by scanning and/or inputting items correctly, taking in cash and providing change or processing card transactions • Responsible for cash drawer security, cash balance and adhering to all other aspects of cash handling policy • Assist managers in developing a team of food safety champions through team collaboration to ensure all food safety/HACCP systems and standards are strictly adhered to and executed daily • Perform necessary action to maintain high standards of the dining room by clearing and cleaning tables, floors, surfaces and managing garbage levels during lunch rush • Ensure a clean and sanitary Café interior by cleaning restrooms, scrubbing kitchen floors and walls, removing trash, cleaning equipment, tables and chairs, changing light bulbs, and other tasks assigned by the management team • Vacuum, sweep and mop floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards • Wash, rinse and sanitize items used in kitchen for prep, cooking and storage, as needed • Wash and sanitize trash containers for dining room and kitchen areas • Assist putting daily deliveries away accurately, rotate stock in cooler, freezer and dry storage area using the First In-First Out method while monitoring shelf life and code dates, as needed • Assist with monitoring food levels, quality and cleanliness of all stations during lunch period • Stock supplies of paper goods, condiments, beverages, grocery and grab and go items • Clean, organize and maintain all café stations and dining room • Assist with light prep, packaging, delivery and assembly of grab and go items • Answer phone professionally and answer any questions/requests from customers • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age • Illinois Food Handler certification • Guest service and cash handling experience preferred • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, fun environment • Guest focused, friendly, engaging and constantly learning • Hard-working, reliable and a great team player • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds • Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length • Must be able to communicate in and read and understand English • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time • Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodation
