The Deli Clerk is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and promoting the “Easy to do Business With” philosophy of E. J. Pope & Son, Inc.

Requirements:

a. Be able to speak, read, write and understand English. b. Be able to perform math calculations sufficient enough to make correct change, complete required paperwork and properly check-in and account for merchandise delivered by vendors. c. Have sufficient vision or corrected vision, to check identification, and do necessary paperwork. d. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, carrying cases of products, changing bag in box soda. e. Be able to sweep and mop floors, lift and carry out trash containers to place in dumpster. f. Be able to enter and work in walk-in cooler or freezer. g. Be able to climb a ladder to clean windows and change air conditioner vents. h. Be able to stand for long periods of time without sitting. i. Be able to act responsibly in case of a customer complaint. j. Be able to read weight scales to ensure proper recipes are adhered to. k. Be able to work in a fast paced environment. l. Be able to operate oven in baking food products. m. Be able to work in an environment were hot ovens and heat boxes are utilized. n. Be able to use sharp items of equipment, (i.e. knifes and food slicing equipment).
